Local Amenities in Wicomico County

There is never a dull moment in Wicomico County. From the everyday activities about to the handful of annual events that local residents look forward to each year, the excitement never seems to fade away here. Festivals and events are commonplace in Wicomico County, and some of the most beloved are the Autumn Wine Festival, Good Beer Festival, Pork in the Park, Salisbury Festival and Sharptown Fireman’s Carnival.

The Salisbury Zoo is a local favorite, founded in 1954 and providing residents with incredible opportunities to explore some of the world’s finest wildlife species in one location. This free zoo works to become an environmentally friendly attraction aimed at promoting conservation and education to the community.

Wicomico County is also home to a NASA Space Station at the Wallops Space Launch facility, the Warm Museum of Wildfowl Art and the Edward H. Nabb Research Center, which houses artifacts and stories of the history of the Eastern Shore. Sports fans can head over to the Arthur W. Purdue Stadium to catch a Delmarva Shorebirds game, the local minor league team.
